If you are planning a trip to Italy, then you just cannot afford to miss the lovely sights found in the village of Apricale. This enchanting place is hardly an hour's drive from the Nice airport and takes just about 40 minutes from the region of Monte Carlo. The word Apricale comes from the latin word- Apricus which means visible to the sun. The Italian Riviera forms the main coastline of this region located in Liguria, interconnected by Cote D'Azur. Besides, it is considered to be one of the prominent villages found along Italy with a medieval origin.

Hiking Cinque Terre

Being a New Zealander born and breed, I've lived my life surrounded by natural beauty and picturesque locations. Although I'm skeptical other countries have more to offer, I'm always game to explore, and being a gluten for punishment, the idea of a 10 kilometre coastal hike to capture the best of Italian beauty, was too enticing to pass up. So, accompanied by two equally dedicated hikers, I set off for Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre: 5 Lands Like No Other II

Monterosso is the furthest west of the five towns and is lined with vineyards and olive groves. You'll find plenty of cliffs and clear water here. Limonblu is a unique beverage you will want to try or buy a bottle.

The harbor facilities in Genova were terribly damaged during World War II and also by storms which occurred in 1954 and 1955, but have since been re-established and improved for modern usage. Genova is also the the chief seaport of Italy.

The region of Liguria is also known as the Italian Riviera and is well marked as a major tourist spot with famous resort towns sprinkled among the fishing villages and rocky coastline. Liguria occupies a thin stretch of coastline from Italy's western border with France, following the Mediterranean coastline south and east to its border with Tuscany. To the north and east, coastal mountains separate Liguria from Piedmonte and Emilia-Romagna.
