Friday  - day of meeting  ( Rome Fiumicino ),

Motorcycle Tours in Tuscany / Latium / Umbria.  Since I go to Italy 4 times a year, I was trying to organize some motorcycle tours there.

Tours will be based from Bolsena near the lake. Honestly this in one of the best areas for motorcycle tours in Italy, 100 km north of Rome, 100 km south of Siena in Tuscany. Just 20 miles south of Tuscany and 5 miles west of Umbria. Bolsena is an ideal center for Tuscany / Umbria and Latium riding.

From Bolsena it is possible to have day trips to:

• Tours of Tuscany : Florence, Siena, Pisa, Arezzo, S Gimignano, Pienza Montepulciano and the Val D' orcia ( the best part of Tuscany for riding is between Bolsena and Siena around the Cassia road )



• Tours of Umbria : Orvieto, Spoleto, Perugia Assisi, Gubbio etc...



• Tours to Latium including Rome, the Etruscan ruins of Tuscania, Tarquinia, Cerveteri



• Tours to Mount Amiata in Tuscany for whoever likes mountain views



• Tours to the seaside: Orbetello is not far away and the great Tuscan coast is nearby



• Tours to Hot springs and hot spas: there are plenty of Spas in that area including Bagni S Fillippo, Saturnia,Viterbo le terme dei Papi, S Casciano dei bagni,Bagno vignoni etc...
• Arts: Etruscan art - medieval cities - Borghi
  

We will try as much as possible to follow the Roman roads or scenic roads and avoid the autostrada. There are so many different rides possible that we will be able to discuss the ride the evening before and then vote and pick. The ride with the highest number of votes will be picked.

Staying in Bolsena will allow passengers wifes ( and kids ) who will want to rest to stay and lounge around the lake that offers quite a bit of summer activities form boat skiing to scuba diving to bicycle rides.

Great food!... If you like Italian food. If you like authentic Italian food you will be really in for a treat! Great wine! Inexpensive ! Yes the Euro is High but Bolsena being a small town in the Northern Lazio offers restaurant food and accommodations for much cheaper than Rome or Tuscany.

Motorcycle + Tuscany + Umbria = You cannot go wrong !!

For the lunches, during the day you just follow the "nose" ! In Italy Tuscany, Umbria or Lazio almost any trattoria is good, in general, out of the towns, more people you have and better the food is specially if you see the trucks, the quality compared to the cost is good - even with the high Euro !

Saturday - Ride back to Firenze / Roma  to drop off the bike and spend the last night, sleep at the hotel, dinner not included, breakfast included

Sunday - Your holiday in Italy is finished, sorry, time to head back to visit Rome or Florence or directly to the Airport.

Approximate costs:

• About Euro 3200 per couple will include a BMW 650 class motorcycle rental for 7 days,  Light ( Italian style ) breakfast, lunch and dinner ad well as accommodation in a 3 or 4 star Hotel for 9 days.

The rates include:

• 8 nights at a  selected Hotel 
• For dinners and lunches we will try to sample different places so they will not be included.
  Dinners will usually be in Bolsena at 8 pm - Consider about Euro 20 each person for a Fish of the lake and local wine dinner
• 7 days of rentals of a class 2 motorcycle and delivery of motorcycle in Bolsena, Florence or Rome
• Italian guide on his motorcycle
• Road book(s) if needed
