Telecom Italia jumps on H3G merger speculation

(ANSA) - Milan, April 4 - Telecom Italia shares jumped as much as 8% in Thursday's trading amid speculation the Italian telecommunications company could be considering a merger with rival H3G.

The stock closed up 7.8% to 0.57 euros amid reports the board of the company may evaluate the merger at its upcoming April 11 meeting.
