(ANSA) - Ferrara, October 21 - Paramilitary carabinieri police on Monday arrested a 28-year-old man from the town of Codirigo, located in Italy's Po river delta, for threatening a public water official with a knife.
At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, the police received a call from someone who witnessed the man menacing the director of the Acquedotto Delta Po.
The police surrounded the zone around the man and his captive and began to talk the aggressor down.
Investigators say the suspect lost control after water workers had turned off his tap.
After being disarmed, the man turned himself over to the police.
