PRINCE THINKING OF SINGING CAREER AFTER WINNING DANCING SHOW

(ANSA) - Rome, November 18 - Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, the grandson of Italy's last king, is mulling the idea of a singing career after winning the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars, entertainment sources said on Wednesday.

Emanuele Filiberto, who has made a career of appearing in TV commercials and newspaper ads, won this year's edition of Ballando con le Stelle and is now thinking of taking part in the Sanremo festival, Italy's most popular songfest.

He is already slated to co-host a popular entertainment show on Italy's state-run RAI channel 1 later this year.

The sources said the prince, 37, will reportedly team up with singer-songwriter Pupo who is penning a song on the prince's love for Italy, in a bid to take part in the Sanremo festival on February 16-20.

The prince is reportedly eager to look at new offers after a reality show he was scheduled to take part in was dropped.

Emanuele Filiberto is married to French actress Clotilde Courau. The couple have two children.

Despite an unsuccessful run for the European parliament in June, pundits believe he is now working to build up popularity on television before returning to politics.
