Ski Italy ranges

Italy Mountain Ranges

Livigno (pronounced Livin-yo) is located high in the Italian Alps with spectacular views offers excellent snow conditions for both skiers and snowboarders plus affordable shopping. Specifically, it is situated in the northern Italian province of Lombardy, about 5 hrs away from Milano. Right on the Italian - Swiss border and is known for its value due to its status as a duty free town.

Ski holidays in Livigno offer great stuff for beginners and intermediates, both boarders and skiers. Livigno boasts modern ski lifts and well prepared ski trails while retaining the traditional rustic character of its 3 original villages.

The ski area is situated on the sun-drenched side of the Lombardy Alps, not far from the Swiss border and is popular holiday resort with British skiers and snowboarders, many of whom return year after year. This can be attributed to the fact that Livigno offers skiing and snowboarding suited to all abilities. Livigno is known for being an excellent resort for beginners with nursery slopes galore all the way down the valley and they're easily accessible by free ski bus.

Livigno started as a tiny farming community and has developed over the years to become one of the top ski areas in Italy. A good study of the ski map will reveal many well kept secrets of Livigno's ski trails.

As a bit of bonus for those who visit, Livigno has lots of shops, which offer tax-free shopping and have almost anything to offer, making it a great place to do a little bargain shopping. This will certainly delight bargain hunters, who can browse through the numerous shops of the well stocked pedestrian center.
