Tuscany is considered the green garden of Italy and we believe that no one can introduce you to the marvels of our countryside as those who were born and live here. Our childhood is made of images of colors and scents that during spring and summer time fulfil our valleys, such as the aromas of the "vitigni" during the grape-gathering time; we want to help you feel these sensations and make you understand the real nature of such a beautiful place. Alessandro Dionisi

He is 32 years old and was born in Rome but lives in Siena since he was 8 years old; the passage from a big city to Radicondoli, a wonderful place between Florence and Siena, has been quite difficult at the beginning but soon he understood how lucky he was to have the chance to live in such a place. He began helping farmers in the breeding of cows and sheep and a great passion for the countryside started growing inside him. When he moved to Chianti he started working in agricultural firms such as Aiola, Terrabianca, Dievole, Caparzino, where he learnt everything about wine production. Now he is a qualified english speaking driver and about his job he says: "Making tours around Tuscany and the Sienese countryside is wonderful, it gives me the chance to meet interesting people and help them to understand the real essence of the places we visit". He loves drinking Tuscan wines and spending time with his friends listening good music.

Marianna Gepponi

She is Alessandro wife; she is 30 years old and was born in Siena. Her grandparents were farmers and taught her a lot of things and stories about life in the countryside. While other children were playing in kindergarten, she was playing with goats, chickens and dogs, in the little farm of their parents. She is graduated in English and German literature and adores every kind of books. She is a tourist assistant and loves helping Alessandro with his job and making people satisfied of their stay in Siena. "When people come back home and write you and thank you for the friendship you offered them, it is a really great satisfaction for me. I know that they will always remember such holiday and me as part of it".

Tour Of the Val d'Orcia and Pienza with Alessandro and Marianna

Depart at 9.00 from any hotel in Siena, Florence or private Villa in the countryside. We will cross the Val d'Orcia valley along the Via Francigena, the most important medieval road to Rome used by pilgrims where will stop to discover some of the numerous churches and fortresses built along the way and where pilgrims used to rest during their travels. We will accompany you to Buonconvento, an ancient Sienese fortress with a monumental wall-system, then Pienza located in a dominant position on the Crete valley the birthplace of Pope Pius II that transformed it in a unique Renaissance town. We will show you the landscapes where scenes of movies such as The English Patient, Romeo and Juliet, The Gladiator were shot.

We will also rest at Bagni San Filippo known for his sulphurous water; here we will have a delicious lunch at "Lo Spugnone" restaurant, managed by a couple of young boys deeply in love with their land. Then what better than an afternoon stroll in the woods to discover the cavern where San Filippo lived in hermitage during the XIII century, and a visit at the marvellous Fosso Bianco, a natural source of sulphurous and beneficial water.

Next stop will be at Bagni San Filippo known for his sulphurous water; here we will have a delicious lunch at "Lo Spugnone" restaurant ( the spugnone is a particular kind of stone typical of this area), managed by a couple of young boys deeply in love with their land. Then a beautiful stroll in the woods to discover the cavern where San Filippo lived in hermitage during the XIII century, and a visit at the marvelous Fosso Bianco, a natural source of sulphurous and beneficial water.
