Weather forecast for Aosta, Italy

Aosta is located in a valley completely surrounded by high mountains, so it is subject to a special microclimate with marked continentality. In general, the seasons are shorter than in the rest of Northern Italy. You can expect hot weather and heavy frosts in late May in November. Summers are moderately warm and sunny, but more windy than the rest of Northern Italy and subject to thunderstorms, especially in August: the average warmest month (July) is +21.25 degrees Celsius. Winters are generally cold (average January +0.65 degrees Celsius) but quite variable depending on the year, with dry periods alternating with periods of snow and very cold. Unlike the surrounding mountains, the average annual rainfall of Aosta is quite low (in the order of 600 mm).
