Weather forecast for Gorizia, Italy

Gorizia is sheltered by mountains to the north and is not affected by cold northerly winds, but is subject to the bora blowing from the east. The wind, which is usually dry, sometimes can bring heavy snowfall. The strong Bora wind, however meets the first obstacle of the Gorizia hills east of the city, which significantly mitigate its fury. The climate of Gorizia, is temperate, it is still influenced by the winds from cool and wet south-west, which penetrate the Isonzo valley which opens towards the city. In the summer storms are quite frequent: it is not uncommon having Sirocco wind blowing through the city, followed, as a rule, abundant rainfall.
