A new shoe collection from Miuccia Prada’s Miu Miu line always unleashes a frenzy of anticipation in the fashion world and the recent reveal of the Miu Miu Spring 2011 Shoe Collection is no different. The line is pure Miu Miu: inventive and quirky, retro-inspired and feminine, with focus on the details.
Spotted: Polka Dot Clogs
Fashionistas who were obsessed with Miu Miu’s iconic cat-print clogs last season will have a chance to get a revamped version for spring. This time the studded clogs come in a whimsical retro polka dot pattern. If the high-heeled clog isn’t your style the fun print (which has been shown in red and green) also comes in a more traditional strappy platform sandal and a classic and demure peep-toe heel.
The Miu Miu Spring 2011 shoe collection also delivered a ton of wearable, and decidedly classic, looks. There was a strappy two-tone platform sandal with a subtle nautical feel, as well as a nude patent leather style with a heel inlaid with sparkly jewels. Such a fun and eye-catching heel on a traditional style is completely in line with the Miu Miu aesthetic–that little extra visual interest and oomph to change the ordinary into something extraordinary. A conversation piece with personality. If jewelled heels are your thing you may also want to check out a pair of blush-colored, open-toed shoes with a boxy embellished kitten heel.
Highs and Lows
Whether you prefer mile-high heels or keeping your feet firmly planted on the ground, the new Miu Miu shoe line has something for you. Aside from the assortment of heels in this collection Miu Miu has also debuted a neutral pair of suede, lace-up sandals with a thick wedge heel that will ensure you are towering over every other chic girl in the vicinity come spring.
If a little low key is more your style Miu Miu also has several options for you. From a fun and flirty pair of striped, bow-adorned ballet flats to sparkly, sequined Oxfords, this collection has something for all those enamoured with the flat. The graphic print of the ballet flats puts a fresh spin on a classic, while the Oxfords are a great way to add a feminine twist to the menswear styles that are all the rage at the moment.
