Lipari is a popular tourist spot, which is among the largest of the Aeolian Islands in Italy found along the north coast of Sicily. It is considered to be the main center of transportation and can be reached through the ferry from Milazzo, which is the nearest ferry port close to Sicily. Museo Archeological Eoliano
In this museum, you can find a beautiful collection of Lipartite urns along with galleries comprising of potteries from the Greek and Sicilian times found during the 4th and 5th century B.C and some great treasures from the underwater world. You can also see the volcanic and geological wonders providing a brief of natural history of this vast island.
Museo della Marineria e delle Tradizioni Eoliane
Here you can come across some of the old fishing instruments along with a history of the Eolian culture. There are guides available here who can provide tours of this place along with a detailed explanation of the history of this island to cater to both the English and Italian speaking crowds.
Chiesa di San Bartolomeo
During the 12th century, this place was constructed but it was destroyed by the Turks in the year 1544. However, a new version of this structure was created in its place with blue hues and covered by murals on the ceiling wall. You can come across Greek, Roman, and Stone Age ruins surrounding this structure. Cathedral of San Bartolomeo
This Cathedral was built in 1080 by the Norman King Ruggero II in honor of the saint of this island and was reconstructed many times. You can see the lovely Norman cloister here along with the silver statue of San Bartolomeo as well.
